Overview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 569, pseudogene (RN7SL569P) is a non-coding RNA pseudogene that is a truncated, nonfunctional genomic copy of the 7SL RNA gene. 7SL RNA is itself a critical component of the signal recognition particle (SRP), a ribonucleoprotein complex essential for targeting secretory proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum in eukaryotic cells[5][4]. However, RN7SL569P does not encode a functional RNA or protein and does not participate in SRP function. Most human 7SL-related sequences are pseudogenes, derived from retrotransposition events, and do not display known biological functions or roles in disease[7][8][6]. These pseudogenes are generally considered "genomic fossils" without direct functional consequences, and are not considered therapeutic targets or relevant biomarkers. This entry is an incorrect target for drug development or therapeutic intervention, as it refers to a nonfunctional pseudogene and lacks involvement in disease processes or therapeutically actionable pathways[7][8][6].
