Overview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 575, pseudogene (RN7SL575P) is a human genetic locus classified as a pseudogene, more specifically a non-coding RNA pseudogene[2][6][7]. It is one of hundreds of related sequences derived from the 7SL RNA, which is the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP), a ribonucleoprotein complex involved in the targeting and translocation of newly synthesized secretory and membrane proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum[5][9]. Pseudogenes like RN7SL575P arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events, but by definition, they are not functional genes: they do not produce functional proteins or RNAs, nor are they recognized as therapeutic, enzymatic, receptor, or transporter targets[2][6][8]. Although certain pseudogenes can have regulatory roles (such as acting as molecular decoys for microRNAs or RNA-binding proteins), there is no evidence that RN7SL575P has any known biological or disease-associated role. It is not currently associated with any drugs, mechanisms of action, or use as a biomarker or therapeutic target[1][2][6][8].
