However, RN7SL602P itself is not a functional gene, does not encode a protein or active RNA, and is not known to have any biological or disease-related function; it is one of many 7SL RNA-derived pseudogenes scattered throughout the human genome that arise via retrotransposition and truncation events[1][4][5][6][7].
