Overview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 617, pseudogene (RN7SL617P) is a member of a large family of human 7SL RNA pseudogenes, which are genomic sequences derived from the reverse transcription and integration of the 7SL RNA gene but do not produce a functional RNA product[1][5][6]. The functional 7SL RNA is a crucial component of the signal recognition particle (SRP), a ribonucleoprotein complex involved in the cotranslational targeting of secretory and membrane proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum[3][4]. However, the vast majority of RN7SL pseudogenes, including RN7SL617P, are truncated copies and do not have an established biological role or therapeutic relevance; they are considered noncoding and nonfunctional remnants[5][6]. There are no known associated proteins, disease roles, or interactions with drugs for this pseudogene.
