RN7SL620P, also known as RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 620, pseudogene, is a member of the large family of 7SL RNA pseudogenes in the human genome[1][5][7]. The canonical 7SL RNA is an essential non-coding RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP), which plays a central role in directing newly synthesized secretory and membrane proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum[3][8]. However, RN7SL620P itself is a pseudogene: it is a non-functional, non-coding genetic element derived from the retrotransposition or duplication of the functional 7SL RNA gene. Most 7SL pseudogenes are not transcribed to stable RNA or protein, and RN7SL620P is not known to produce a functional transcript or have physiological or pathological function[1][5][7]. As such, it is not a therapeutic target, nor is it associated with any drugs, mechanisms, or biomarker status. While a minority of pseudogenes in other contexts may exert regulatory effects (such as acting as miRNA decoys or transcriptional regulators), there is no evidence that RN7SL620P has such functions[4][6].
