Pseudogenes like RN7SL623P result from the reverse transcription of RNA back into the genome but lack the regulatory elements or complete coding sequence required for gene expression; thus, they are generally considered non-functional genomic elements[3]. While some pseudogenes in other gene families can act as regulatory RNAs, there is no evidence that RN7SL623P is expressed or has any biological or clinical function.
