RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 648, pseudogene (RN7SL648P) is a member of the 7SL RNA pseudogene family. 7SL RNA is the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP), which plays a crucial role in recognizing signal peptides during translation and mediating protein targeting to the endoplasmic reticulum in eukaryotes[1][3]. However, as RN7SL648P is a pseudogene, it does not produce a functional 7SL RNA or active SRP complex component. Pseudogenes generally do not encode active biological products, but in rare cases, their RNA transcripts may have regulatory roles, influencing gene expression by acting as miRNA decoys, or by competing for RNA-binding proteins[4]. There is no evidence that RN7SL648P itself is an established therapeutic target, nor is it associated with direct disease roles, interacting drugs, biomarker potential, or safety concerns in the current scientific literature.
