RN7SL803P is a noncoding RNA pseudogene derived from the gene encoding 7SL RNA, an essential component of the signal recognition particle involved in cotranslational targeting of proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum. Unlike the functional 7SL RNA gene, RN7SL803P is a truncated, non-transcribed copy generated by retrotransposition or other duplication events. Such pseudogenes do not produce functional RNA and are not involved in cellular activity or disease. The SRP’s functional 7SL RNA is highly conserved and critical for protein translocation, but pseudogenes like RN7SL803P are essentially genomic fossils; they are not translated into proteins or functional RNAs in the cell. RN7SL803P is not a true therapeutic molecular target, but a pseudogene, and should not be included in structured therapeutic datasets unless explicitly relevant for genomic study or annotation.
