RN7SL820P is a non-coding pseudogene sequence in the human genome related to 7SL RNA, the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP).'7SL pseudogenes' are typically truncated, non-functional genomic copies produced by the reverse transcription and integration of SRP RNA sequences. While the functional 7SL RNA is integral to SRP-mediated protein translocation across the endoplasmic reticulum[3][5], pseudogenes like RN7SL820P have no known biological activity or role and are not expressed to detectable levels[4][6]. Most such pseudogenes do not contribute to cellular function or disease and are not considered actionable molecular targets in therapeutics[4][6].
