RN7SL833P is a human pseudogene derived from the 7SL RNA, which is the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP)[1][3][5]. Pseudogenes are nonfunctional genomic sequences that resemble functional genes, but typically have lost their ability to encode functional RNA or protein products due to sequence truncation, mutations, or lack of regulatory elements[6]. RN7SL833P is one of hundreds of 7SL RNA-like pseudogenes in the human genome, most of which are truncated at either end and do not produce functional products[3][5]. These pseudogenes arise through reverse transcription and integration of RNA sequences back into genomic DNA[3][4][6]. They can complicate molecular biology studies due to their sequence similarity with functional genes, but are not known to have direct disease relevance, drug interactions, or biomarker status. The functional counterpart, 7SL RNA, plays a central role in SRP-mediated protein targeting and has emerging regulatory and disease association roles, but these do not apply to its pseudogenes. RN7SL833P, specifically, does not serve as a drug target or have known therapeutic relevance[1][3][6].
