Overview

RN7SL835P, also known as RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 835, pseudogene, is a human pseudogene related to the 7SL RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP). The SRP is an essential ribonucleoprotein complex involved in recognizing and targeting specific proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum during translation, and its RNA core is known as 7SL RNA. Unlike functional 7SL RNA genes, pseudogenes like RN7SL835P are typically non-coding DNA segments derived from a parent RNA gene and lack the ability to code for functional RNAs or proteins. The vast majority of 7SL-like sequences in the human genome are pseudogenes, generated through various retrotransposition and truncation events. RN7SL835P is annotated as a "Misc RNA" locus and does not encode a protein nor a functional RNA molecule. There are no known biological functions or direct disease associations reported for RN7SL835P specifically. In general, some pseudogenes can act as molecular sponges for regulatory miRNAs or RNA-binding proteins, but there is no evidence that RN7SL835P plays such a role. It is not a therapeutic target and has no known relationship to any approved drugs or clinical biomarkers. RN7SL835P is a pseudogene of the 7SL RNA family, present as a non-coding, non-functional sequence, with no established biological function or therapeutic relevance.
