RNA, Ro-associated Y1 pseudogene 6 (RNY1P6) is a predicted pseudogene related to the RNY1 gene, which encodes a small noncoding Y RNA component of Ro RNPs involved in autoimmune diseases such as lupus erythematosus. Unlike its parent, RNY1P6 does not encode a protein and there is no evidence in the published literature of a biological or clinical function. The functional characterization and disease involvement of RNY1P6 have not been described, and it is not recognized as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or druggable gene. Similar to other pseudogenes, theoretical functions could include regulation of parental gene expression or miRNA interaction, but these roles remain speculative for RNY1P6 specifically.
