Overview

RNY3P12 (RNA, Ro-associated Y3 pseudogene 12) is a non-protein-coding pseudogene located on chromosome 10 (chr10:92334463-92334564 hg38)[5]. It shares homology with the functional Y RNA gene RNY3, which is associated with the Ro60 ribonucleoprotein complex. Y RNA molecules, like RNY3, have roles in DNA replication and cellular processes, but pseudogenes such as RNY3P12 are generally not transcribed into functional products and are considered genomic remnants without established physiological roles[5][6]. There is no evidence for involvement of RNY3P12 in signaling, drug action, or disease, and it is not a therapeutic target. RNY3P12’s sequence similarity may allow it to act as a decoy or compete for molecular interactions under rare circumstances, but no specific biological functions have been reported for this pseudogene[2][7].
