Overview

RNU1-119P (RNA, U1 small nuclear 119, pseudogene) is a human pseudogene related to the U1 small nuclear RNA gene family. U1 snRNAs are critical components of the spliceosome complex and are essential for accurate pre-mRNA splicing and transcriptome regulation, but pseudogenes like RNU1-119P lack the necessary sequences for expression or functional incorporation into spliceosomal complexes. While the broader U1 snRNA family is functionally involved in important cell regulatory processes, RNU1-119P itself is not known to be biologically active and is generally not transcribed or translated. RNU1-119P may be annotated due to its sequence similarity but does not appear to play a role in therapeutic targeting or disease pathogenesis.

02

Mechanism of action

None. As a pseudogene, RNU1-119P does not have mechanisms of action relevant for drug targeting

03

Biological functions

None directly assigned to RNU1-119P. Canonical U1 snRNA is involved in pre-mRNA splicing and transcriptome regulation, but pseudogenes like RNU1-119P are typically non-functional
04

Disease associations

None known for RNU1-119P. In general, aberrant expression of noncoding RNA pseudogenes can contribute to disease phenotypes, but RNU1-119P itself is not established in this role
05

Safety considerations

None. There are no known safety concerns or therapeutic challenges associated with RNU1-119P, as it is not a drug target
06

Interacting drugs

None. No drugs are known to interact with RNU1-119P
07

Biomarkers

None. RNU1-119P is not used as a biomarker for disease selection or therapeutic monitoring
