RNA, U1 small nuclear 49, pseudogene (RNU1-49P) is a human pseudogene classified as a member of the small nuclear RNA (snRNA) family, related to U1 snRNA, which is essential for pre-mRNA splicing and forms part of the spliceosome complex[6][1]. RNU1-49P itself does not encode a functional protein or a known functional RNA, and it is annotated as a non-protein-coding transcript with no established biological or disease role, typical for pseudogenes[6][1][4]. While some U1 snRNA pseudogenes may produce variant RNAs with minor regulatory functions, there is no direct evidence that RNU1-49P fulfills such a role. RNU1-49P is not considered a therapeutic target, biomarker, or drug target.
