Overview

RNA, U5A small nuclear 7, pseudogene (RNU5A-7P) is a noncoding RNA pseudogene that resembles the small nuclear U5A RNA involved in spliceosomal function but lacks the ability to encode a functional product[1][4]. Pseudogenes such as RNU5A-7P are remnants of evolutionarily duplicated or mutated versions of protein-coding or functional RNA genes, often found dispersed throughout the genome. While some pseudogenes may occasionally exert regulatory effects on coding genes—for example, by acting as competing endogenous RNAs or being processed into regulatory small RNAs[6]—there is presently no evidence that RNU5A-7P plays an active biological or disease-related role. It is therefore not considered a therapeutic target, biomarker, or subject of drug interaction. Key points: - Not a drug target - No known aliases beyond those listed - Belongs to pseudogene/noncoding RNA category - Lacks recognized function, druggability, or disease association This entry should not be used as a canonical therapeutic target in any structured database, as its pseudogene status and lack of function preclude typical target attributes.
