Overview

RNU6-1090P is a processed pseudogene belonging to the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) family. U6 snRNAs are essential components of the spliceosome that catalyze pre-mRNA splicing, but the pseudogene form (such as RNU6-1090P) does not encode a functional RNA or protein. Pseudogenes are typically non-functional copies of coding or non-coding genes and often result from retrotransposition or duplication events. While most pseudogenes are transcriptionally silent, some are transcribed and may regulate the expression of related genes by acting as decoys for regulatory molecules (e.g., miRNAs) or forming double-stranded RNAs that participate in RNA interference pathways[4][6][5]. There is no evidence that RNU6-1090P is involved in a specific biological process, is a therapeutic target, or is associated with disease. It is not a receptor, enzyme, or druggable target.
