RNU6-11P, or "RNA, U6 small nuclear 11, pseudogene," is a non-coding RNA pseudogene and part of a family of U6 small nuclear RNA gene-derived sequences found throughout the genome[3]. The functional U6 snRNA is a highly conserved core component of the spliceosome, essential for pre-mRNA intron removal in eukaryotic cells[1][2]. However, pseudogenes like RNU6-11P do not code for functional RNA and typically arise from retrotranspositional events—their presence is often a genomic marker of such events rather than a source of protein or regulatory RNA activity[4]. U6 snRNA pseudogenes do not participate directly in splicing, signaling, or disease processes, nor are they known to interact with drugs.
