RNA, U6 small nuclear 1133, pseudogene (RNU6-1133P) is a human pseudogene derived from the U6 small nuclear RNA gene, located in the nuclear genome and classified as a processed pseudogene based on sequence analysis[3][5][7]. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but generally considered nonfunctional due to mutations, truncations, or lack of necessary regulatory elements. The parental U6 small nuclear RNA is part of the spliceosome, a critical RNA–protein complex involved in pre-mRNA splicing. However, RNU6-1133P shows no evidence of transcriptional or translational activity and has not been implicated in disease, drug response, or normal cellular functions. Its existence reflects historical retrotransposition events rather than ongoing biological roles[4].
