RNU6-1241P (RNA, U6 small nuclear 1241, pseudogene) is a human pseudogene corresponding to a member of the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) gene family[1][3][5][7][9][10]. As a pseudogene, it contains sequence similarity to functional U6 snRNA genes but does not produce a functional RNA product or have a known biological function. U6 snRNAs are small nuclear RNAs involved in the splicing of pre-mRNA, but the pseudogene version (RNU6-1241P) is generally regarded as non-functional and is not known to encode a protein or have a direct role in cellular processes[9][10]. Pseudogenes such as RNU6-1241P typically are not considered therapeutic targets, as they lack protein-coding ability and established biological roles[2]. Although some pseudogenes can regulate gene expression through RNA-based mechanisms in certain contexts, there is no evidence that RNU6-1241P acts in this way[2][9].
