RNA, U6 small nuclear 1300, pseudogene (RNU6-1300P) is a processed pseudogene derived from the U6 small nuclear RNA gene, located on chromosome 8 (8q21)[1][3][7]. Pseudogenes like RNU6-1300P resemble functional noncoding RNAs but lack the ability to produce active RNA products due to accumulated mutations or loss of regulatory elements required for transcription[2][4]. U6 small nuclear RNA genes code for an essential spliceosomal RNA (part of the spliceosome complex), but pseudogenes such as RNU6-1300P are considered nonfunctional genomic elements and do not participate in RNA splicing or other known biological processes[2][5][7]. RNU6-1300P is not regarded as a therapeutic target, enzyme, receptor, or molecular biomarker. Its main relevance is as a genomic marker reflecting the history and mechanisms of retrotransposition—the process by which segments of RNA are reverse transcribed and inserted back into the genome[2]. It has no known interactions with drugs, nor direct involvement in diseases.
