Overview

The *RNA, U6 small nuclear 185, pseudogene* (RNU6-185P) is a processed pseudogene derived from the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) gene family[3]. U6 snRNA itself is an essential, highly conserved component of the spliceosomal machinery responsible for pre-mRNA splicing in eukaryotes, but RNU6-185P does not encode a functional RNA molecule[1][2][3]. Pseudogenes like RNU6-185P are non-coding remnants of once-functional genes; they do not produce active snRNA and have no established biological or clinical role. They can occur in the genome due to retrotransposition events involving U6 snRNA[3], but are not considered molecular targets for therapy, nor are they associated with drug interactions or biomarker use. Therefore, RNU6-185P is not a relevant molecular target for therapeutic intervention.
