**RNA, U6 small nuclear 329, pseudogene (RNU6-329P)** is a human pseudogene related to the functional U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) gene family[4][7]. U6 snRNA is a highly conserved component of the spliceosome, which is essential for the removal of introns from pre-mRNA during nuclear pre-mRNA splicing[1][3]. The designation "pseudogene" indicates that RNU6-329P resembles the sequence of U6 snRNA genes but lacks the capacity to produce a functional snRNA product due to mutations or truncations[5]. Most pseudogenes, including RNU6-329P, are generally considered non-functional remnants of gene duplication or retrotransposition events[6]. Some pseudogenes have regulatory roles such as serving as decoys for microRNAs (miRNA sponge), producing small interfering RNAs, or affecting gene regulation at the RNA level, but there is no evidence that RNU6-329P has these functions. There are no known drugs, biomarkers, or therapeutic relevance linked to RNU6-329P. Its main importance is as a member of the large set of U6 snRNA pseudogenes spread throughout the genome[5][6][7].
