However, as a pseudogene, RNU6-344P does not produce a functional RNA product or protein and is generally considered non-functional. There is no current evidence supporting regulatory, coding, or clinical roles for this locus[3][6]. While some pseudogenes have been implicated in regulatory functions or as decoys affecting gene expression[4], there is no published data showing such a function for RNU6-344P. In summary, RNU6-344P is a non-functional, non-coding human pseudogene related to the highly conserved U6 small nuclear RNA family, but it is not a pharmacological or therapeutic target[3][6].
