Overview

RNU6-36P is a pseudogene copy of U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA), specifically labeled as the 36th pseudogene variant. The U6 snRNA itself is a uridine-rich, noncoding RNA component of the spliceosome, critical to nuclear intron splicing in gene expression[1][2][3]. However, pseudogenes such as RNU6-36P do not encode functional RNAs or proteins and generally lack biological activity. They are often products of retrotransposition or genome rearrangement and may contain sequence similarities to functional genes but do not contribute to RNA processing or splicing[1][3]. These pseudogenes are usually cataloged as part of genome annotation efforts but are not considered therapeutic or pathological targets. There is no evidence that RNU6-36P interacts with any drugs, functions as a biomarker, or is implicated in disease processes. Its main annotation is as a genomic locus related to U6 snRNA, with no demonstrated functionality and no established relevance to safety or therapeutic intervention.
