Overview

RNU6-394P (RNA, U6 small nuclear 394, pseudogene) is a human pseudogene derived from the U6 small nuclear RNA gene family. While the functional U6 snRNA participates in mRNA splicing as a component of the spliceosome, RNU6-394P itself does not encode a functional RNA molecule and lacks known protein products. Pseudogenes like RNU6-394P commonly arise from duplication or retrotransposition events. Although certain pseudogenes can have regulatory roles or be transcribed into noncoding RNAs affecting gene expression, there is currently no evidence indicating biological activity, disease relevance, or clinical significance for RNU6-394P[3][2][4]. This distinguishes it from the functional U6 snRNA, which is highly conserved and critical for splicing in eukaryotic cells[3][1]. If further information is required on functional U6 snRNA, see entries for "U6 small nuclear RNA" or related genes rather than this pseudogene.
