RNU6-483P (RNA, U6 small nuclear 483, pseudogene) is a genomic pseudogene corresponding to the highly conserved U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA), which is a non-coding RNA involved in pre-mRNA splicing as part of the spliceosome complex[2][3]. As a pseudogene, RNU6-483P does NOT encode a functional RNA or protein product and is not involved in splicing or any known biological process. Pseudogenes like RNU6-483P are thought to arise through genomic duplication or retrotransposition events, resulting in sequences that resemble functional RNAs but lack expression or function[2]. There are many U6-derived pseudogenes throughout the genome, but these are not considered therapeutic targets, are not associated with disease, and have no drug interactions or safety-related relevance[2][4].
