RNA, U6 small nuclear 593, pseudogene (RNU6-593P) is a pseudogene derived from the gene encoding U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA)[4][7]. U6 snRNA itself is a highly conserved, non-coding RNA essential for splicing of pre-mRNA as part of the spliceosome, but RNU6-593P does not produce functional RNA or protein product and is considered non-coding and non-functional as a spliceosomal component[3][4][5]. U6-derived pseudogenes, such as RNU6-593P, are common in vertebrate genomes and are typically the result of genomic duplication or retrotransposition of the functional U6 snRNA gene[3][5]. Pseudogenes are not considered therapeutic targets, are not associated with drug interactions, and currently have no established biomarker or disease roles[4][5][7].
