RNA, U6 small nuclear 60, pseudogene (RNU6-60P) is a non-coding RNA pseudogene, classified as a member of the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) pseudogenes[1][5]. It does not encode a functional product and is a non-functional derivative of the canonical U6 snRNA genes. Unlike protein-coding genes or major functional RNAs, pseudogenes like RNU6-60P are typically considered transcriptionally inactive, although in rare cases some pseudogenes can be transcribed. RNU6-60P itself is not considered a therapeutic target and has no established role in drug targeting, biomarker use, or disease pathology[1][5]. Its presence reflects the genomic repetition and evolutionary history of the U6 snRNA family but has no known biological, diagnostic, or therapeutic significance.
