RNA, U6 small nuclear 604, pseudogene (RNU6-604P) is one of many U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) pseudogenes found in the human genome. U6 snRNA itself is a key component of the spliceosome complex, essential for pre-mRNA splicing in eukaryotic cells, and U6 RNA sequences are highly conserved and present in multiple functional and pseudogene copies across the genome[1][3]. Pseudogenes such as RNU6-604P originate from replication or retrotransposition events and are generally non-functional in coding or catalysis, though in some cases pseudogene transcripts can influence gene regulation as decoys or via RNA interference-like mechanisms[2]. To date, there is no evidence that RNU6-604P functions as a therapeutic target, nor are there data supporting clinical utility, disease association, or drug interactions for this specific pseudogene.
