Overview

RNU6-638P is a pseudogene associated with the U6 small nuclear RNA gene family[2][6]. Pseudogenes are non-functional sequences resulting from genomic duplication or retrotransposition of functional genes. RNU6-638P does not encode active U6 snRNA and is not incorporated into the spliceosome or associated with splicing. Unlike functional U6 snRNA, which plays a catalytic role in spliceosome assembly and intron excision in eukaryotic cells[1][3], pseudogenes such as RNU6-638P serve as evolutionary remnants and do not participate in known biological processes, disease roles, or drug interactions[2][6][5]. There is no evidence supporting its use as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or drug interaction site.\n\nIn summary, RNU6-638P is a non-functional, non-coding RNA pseudogene of U6 snRNA origin and should not be considered a therapeutic target or associated with clinical pharmacology[2][6][5].
