RNA, U6 small nuclear 774, pseudogene (RNU6-774P) is a pseudogene related to the U6 small nuclear RNA family, which normally plays an essential role in the spliceosome machinery for mRNA processing. As a pseudogene, RNU6-774P is a non-coding, likely transcriptionally inactive DNA sequence that originated by retrotransposition or duplication from an ancestral functional snRNA gene. Pseudogenes are generally not considered functional gene products and are not involved in typical molecular pathways or pharmacology; they serve as genomic relics and are not recognized as therapeutic targets or biomarkers[3][4][6][7]. While some pseudogenes in other contexts have acquired regulatory roles, there is no evidence for RNU6-774P having any known physiological, clinical, or pharmacological function.
