Overview

RNA, U6 small nuclear 781, pseudogene (RNU6-781P) is a human pseudogene located on chromosome 12[1][5]. It is a nonfunctional genomic sequence resembling the U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) family, which is involved in the splicing of pre-mRNA as a component of the spliceosome[4]. Pseudogenes such as RNU6-781P have lost their ability to code for functional RNAs or proteins due to mutations or processing errors but may be transcribed at low levels; in some cases, pseudogenes can participate in regulatory RNA networks, but there is currently no evidence this specific pseudogene has such a function[2]. RNU6-781P has no established role in human disease, no known relevance as a therapeutic target, and no associated interacting drugs or biomarkers.

Biological functions

Other (No known direct function; generally, pseudogenes can sometimes regulate their parental gene at RNA level, but specific evidence for RNU6-781P is lacking[2])
03

Disease associations

Other (No direct evidence links RNU6-781P to disease; some pseudogenes in other gene families have roles in cancer or gene regulation, but this is pseudogene-specific and not universal[2])
