U6 snRNA is an essential component of the spliceosome, the molecular machinery responsible for splicing pre-mRNA in eukaryotic cells[1][3]. Pseudogenes like RNU6-807P are nonfunctional genomic sequences resembling the U6 snRNA gene but lack the capacity to produce functional RNA or participate in splicing due to mutations or sequence rearrangements accumulated after retrotransposition[5][7]. Pseudogenes may be transcribed at low levels but generally have no known biological, regulatory, or disease-related functions on their own, although global pseudogene expression profiles can sometimes reflect cell state or aging[2][7].
