Overview

RNA, U6 small nuclear 832, pseudogene (RNU6-832P) is a human pseudogene belonging to the family of U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) genes[1]. U6 snRNA is an essential component of the spliceosome required for pre-mRNA splicing in eukaryotes[3][5]. However, RNU6-832P is classified as a pseudogene, which means it is a non-functional copy or remnant of a functional gene, generally lacking protein-coding or catalytic activity and often not transcribed into a stable or functional RNA product[1]. While some pseudogenes have been shown to exert regulatory effects or impact disease biology by acting as competing endogenous RNAs or decoys for regulatory molecules, there is currently no evidence that RNU6-832P specifically plays such a role[2]. It is *not* considered a direct therapeutic target, nor does it have known involvement in drug mechanisms or safety concerns.

Disease associations

Other (no direct disease roles reported; pseudogenes, in general, can in some cases modulate gene expression or act as disease biomarkers, but no such role is known for RNU6-832P specifically)[2]
