Unlike functional U6 snRNA genes, which are key components of the spliceosome involved in pre-mRNA splicing, RNU6-839P is a noncoding, nonfunctional remnant—it does not produce a functional transcript and does not participate in cellular or therapeutic pathways[1][6][8]. Pseudogenes like RNU6-839P can, in rare cases, have regulatory functions such as acting as miRNA decoys or producing nonfunctional RNAs that may influence gene regulation, but there is no evidence that RNU6-839P specifically has any functional or pathophysiological role[4]. This gene is not a therapeutic target, nor is it categorized as an enzyme, receptor, transporter, or other classical druggable biomolecule. It is primarily of interest for genomic annotation rather than for biological or pharmacological research[1][6][8].
