RNA, U6 small nuclear 856, pseudogene (RNU6-856P) is a non-coding RNA pseudogene derived from U6 small nuclear RNA (U6 snRNA), which is a highly conserved component of the spliceosome involved in pre-mRNA splicing[3][1]. Pseudogenes such as RNU6-856P are genomic DNA sequences similar to known genes but are generally non-functional due to mutations or the absence of regulatory elements required for proper expression[2]. Most pseudogenes, including those related to U6 snRNA, do not encode functional RNA or protein and are not considered active therapeutic or biological targets. There is currently no evidence directly associating RNU6-856P with any biological function, disease role, biomarker use, drug interaction, or safety concern.
