U6 snRNA is a core component of the spliceosome and is involved in removing introns from pre-mRNA during RNA splicing in eukaryotes[1][3]. However, as a pseudogene, RNU6-975P is a genomic sequence that resembles the functional U6 gene but is generally considered inactive; it does not encode a functional product and has no known biological function, disease association, or role as a drug target[7][6]. Multiple U6 snRNA pseudogenes exist in the human genome, and they reflect the history of retrotransposition and genomic rearrangement rather than representing active or therapeutically interesting targets[6].
