Functional U7 snRNA is a component of the U7 snRNP (small nuclear ribonucleoprotein), critical for histone mRNA maturation and regulation, but RNU7-106P does not appear to encode a functional RNA and is considered non-coding and non-functional[2][3][5]. Pseudogenes like RNU7-106P can sometimes have regulatory functions in rare cases, but current evidence and annotation categorize this entity as a nonfunctional remnant rather than a druggable or disease-relevant molecular target.
