Target intelligence / Profile preview
RNA, U7 small nuclear 188 pseudogene (RNU7-188P) is a non-coding, non-functional pseudogene located on chromosome 7q21. It is related by sequence homology to the functional U7 small nuclear RNA gene family, which encodes a snRNA involved in histone pre-mRNA 3’ end processing. Unlike the functional RNU7-1 gene, which is important in RNA maturation and cell cycle regulation, RNU7-188P does not produce a functional RNA product and has no known biological role or disease association.
