RNA, U7 small nuclear 24 pseudogene (RNU7-24P) is a human pseudogene related to the U7 small nuclear RNA family. The U7 snRNA is an RNA molecule required for histone pre-mRNA processing as part of the U7 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) complex[5][8]. The RNU7-24P gene itself is classified as a pseudogene, meaning it does not encode a functional product and is not expressed as an active RNA or protein in cells[1][3][4][7][9][10]. These pseudogenes arise from duplication or mutation of functional U7 snRNA genes and do not participate in recognized biological or disease processes, nor do they represent drug targets or biomarkers.
