Functional U7 snRNA is a component of the U7 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein complex, which is essential for histone pre-mRNA processing[3][4]. However, RNU7-27P being a pseudogene, is considered biologically inactive and does not contribute to any known cellular or disease processes[5]. Pseudogenes typically arise from duplication or mutation of functional genes and are not expressed as functional RNA or protein.
