Target intelligence / Profile preview
RNA, U7 small nuclear 28 pseudogene (RNU7-28P) is a characterized human **pseudogene** corresponding to the U7 class of small nuclear RNAs (snRNAs)[4][5][6]. Pseudogenes such as RNU7-28P are **non-functional genomic sequences** similar to functional genes, in this case resembling U7 snRNA genes that are integral to the processing of histone pre-mRNA in the cell nucleus[3]. However, as a pseudogene, RNU7-28P is believed not to produce functional RNA or protein and does not have a known biological function or disease association. No therapeutic agents, mechanisms, or clinical biomarkers involve this pseudogene[6][4]. Its primary use is as a genetic annotation rather than a biological or therapeutic target.
