Overview

RNA, U7 small nuclear 29 pseudogene (RNU7-29P, also known as U7.29 or LOC124904769) is a human genomic locus annotated as a pseudogene related to the U7 small nuclear RNA gene family[4][7][8][9]. Pseudogenes such as RNU7-29P arise from duplication or retrotransposition events but generally do not produce functional RNA or proteins; they lack normal biological activity and are usually not involved in cellular processes or disease mechanisms[7][8]. The functional counterpart, U7 small nuclear RNA, is a component of the U7 snRNP complex essential for histone pre-mRNA processing, but RNU7-29P itself is not implicated in this or any other biological function[6][7]. There is no evidence that RNU7-29P is considered a drug target or biomarker. It is simply annotated as a pseudogene in the human genome and does not currently have any therapeutic relevance or established disease associations[7][8].
