RNA, U7 small nuclear 45 pseudogene (RNU7-45P) is classified as a human pseudogene associated with the U7 small nuclear RNA family[6][7]. While functional U7 small nuclear RNA (U7 snRNA) is required for processing histone pre-mRNAs and operates as part of the U7 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein complex (U7 snRNP)[4], pseudogenes such as RNU7-45P do not transcribe a functional RNA product, generally lack biological activity, and are not amenable to therapeutic targeting[6][7]. Human U7 pseudogene sequences exhibit features typical of reverse-transcribed pseudogenes and do not fully match the active U7 RNA sequence[7]. RNU7-45P is not considered a therapeutic target, does not have described disease roles, nor does it act as a biomarker, and there are no drugs or mechanistic actions associated with it. If searching for a drug target, the functional U7 small nuclear RNA (not pseudogenes) is the relevant molecule in cellular RNA processing[4].
