RNA, U7 small nuclear 71 pseudogene" (RNU7-71P) is a non-coding RNA pseudogene belonging to the U7 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) gene family. The U7 snRNA genes encode functional components of the U7 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein complex (U7 snRNP), which plays a specialized role in the 3′ end processing of replication-dependent histone mRNAs[5]. However, as a pseudogene, RNU7-71P does not produce a functional RNA molecule or protein product and is not involved in cellular processes or disease pathology, nor does it interact with drugs or serve as a therapeutic target[4]. Note: If you are looking for the functional U7 snRNA (RNU7-1), it is an essential non-coding RNA component of the U7 snRNP complex, crucial for histone pre-mRNA processing and cell cycle regulation[1][2][3][5]. The "pseudogene" form does not serve these roles.
