Overview

RNA binding motif protein 22 pseudogene 6 (RBM22P6) is a non-coding pseudogene in humans[2][4]. It is a homologous DNA sequence to the protein-coding RNA binding motif protein 22 (RBM22), which is involved in pre-mRNA splicing as part of the spliceosome complex[1][6]. Pseudogenes like RBM22P6 are remnants of well-conserved protein-coding genes that have accumulated mutations rendering them incapable of producing functional proteins[5]. RBM22P6 is not known to play a direct biological or pathological role, nor is it considered a drug target, biomarker, or source of safety concern. It is included in genomic databases for completeness, but its transcription and functional relevance are effectively null; any information linking it to disease or therapeutic applications would be an error or misunderstanding.
