RNA binding motif protein 22 pseudogene 7 (RBM22P7) is a pseudogene related to the protein-coding gene RBM22. Pseudogenes are stretches of DNA that resemble known genes but are nonfunctional due to disabling mutations or truncations; they do not encode active proteins and typically do not have biological functions or pathophysiological roles associated with protein-coding genes. There are no known drugs that interact with this pseudogene, and it is not considered a therapeutic target. - The RBM22 gene encodes an RNA binding protein with roles in pre-mRNA splicing, but RBM22P7 specifically is identified as a pseudogene variant and not a receptor, enzyme, or any other therapeutic target class. - Pseudogenes, such as RBM22P7, by definition do not encode functional proteins and have no documented clinical or pharmacological relevance. - No drugs, mechanism of actions, diagnostic biomarkers, or disease associations have been reported for RBM22P7.
