RNA binding motif protein Y-linked family 2 member G, pseudogene (RBMY2GP), is a human pseudogene located on the Y chromosome. It is homologous to functional members of the RBMY gene family, which encode RNA-binding proteins involved in spermatogenesis. As a pseudogene, RBMY2GP does not encode a functional protein due to disabling mutations such as premature stop codons or frame shifts. Pseudogenes like RBMY2GP may play non-coding regulatory roles at the RNA level, including acting as competing endogenous RNAs, antisense transcripts, or elements in gene network regulation, but specific biological functions for RBMY2GP are not documented in current literature. There is no evidence to suggest it is a therapeutic target or interacts with any known drug classes.
