RNA binding motif protein Y-linked family 2 member J, pseudogene (RBMY2JP) is a human Y-chromosome pseudogene that is a sequence-homolog of the RBMY (RNA binding motif protein, Y-linked) family, which includes protein-coding genes important in spermatogenesis[3][5]. As a pseudogene, RBMY2JP contains inactivating mutations and does not produce a functional protein[4]. Recent studies on pseudogenes indicate that some can be transcribed as noncoding RNA, acting as regulators of their parent genes or in microRNA-related pathways, especially in the testis[2]. However, there is no direct evidence that RBMY2JP is transcribed or has such a regulatory function. It is not considered a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other classical drug target class, nor are any specific drugs or safety issues associated with it. RBMY2JP is relevant in genomic annotation and evolutionary studies but is not a valid direct target for therapeutic intervention or drug development[4][5].
